I am a newbie heres what I am doing

I have a website for my busines, Diabetes Educator. The place I have hosting teh webiste doe not have a forum available. It has personal messages.
I was contemplating starting a forum for teh patients I see andthsoe that are interested inw aht I teach.
I want to get one that doesn't cost that much or preferabley free, and is easily accessible.
Any suggestions?

I would suggest MyBB Its free, easy to install, and easy to use. I've been using it for a while now and love it!

I tried putting a forum into the website and it won't allow it. So do I externally link to my forum? Or would I be better off going to another web host and start over from scratch?
