Staff Manual Template
Below is an example you can use to start your Staff manual. You should review all the information listed. Information listed in red should be changed to match your forum.

Welcome to the [Replace: your forum name here] Staff! We are happy to have you and look forward to working with you. As all of us here, you must have a loving for chatting at forums and blogs. Below you will find the rules and regulations that Staff members must follow.

Online Activity
Its always appreciated that you try to keep a web browser window or tab open to our forum. This makes it easier for you to access the site and also helps promote online activity. You can use the Who's Online page to keep an active session.

MyBB Tip. The access the Who's Online page with MyBB. From the main page scroll to the bottom of the page. On the Board Statistics section click the Complete List link. The page that will load is the Who's Online page. If you click the Refresh this page link at the bottom of the Who's Online page the page will update automatically.

Help Build Content
As Staff members you are expected to help build your assigned forums posts (content). Posting helpful information and tips should be something that is done every time you visit the site. Don't ever forget that as a Staff member, we set the example. Help members when you can and share any information you want. The more we help our members the more they will support our community.

Monitoring for spam
Every time you visit the site you should check any new posts for spam links or information. New members username and profile should also be reviewed for any information that would violate our User Agreement or any rules for the forum. If any spam messages are found please report them immediately to the forum Administrator. Some Staff members have the ability to edit, move, and delete posts. If you have the ability to edit the post, do so SAVING the original. Email a copy of the Original post to the forum Administrator.

Handling Members
The main thing to keep in mind when dealing with member problems is the Members are who make the forum. Without them we cannot survive. Always make sure you deal with Members politely and professionally. ALL member problems should be reported to the forum Administrator. All final decisions are made by the forum Administrator.

New Posts
All new posts should be reviewed for both spam and also check to assure the post was made in the correct forum. If you encounter a post that is spam or needs to be moved (and you do not have permission to move the post) please inform the forum Administrator.

Leave
Staff members who are going to be gone for more than 3 days in a row should notified the forum Administrator. Please include the amount of time you will be gone and if you will have access to email.

General Rules
Below is a list of general rules that all members must follow.
  • No affiliate links
  • Signatures may only be 3 lines and have 2 links. No big text. All signatures are subject to review
  • No flaming members
  • No URLs in username
  • No profanity
  • No adult site links
  • No over use of smilies icons (emoticons)
  • Posts should be made in the correct category and be on topic
  • No pirated information

At the end of the day lets not forget our main goal. To build a great community where we can all sure information and knowledge. It is your responsibility as a staff member to help with achieving our main goal.

I like how you placed a users manual and reminder for how to post.
So many people join forums just to SPAM or Phish and make trouble.
