This was something i never thought I would see, until someone else brought it up. Hijacking content.
I know cross posting is a common event, especially when you are trying to get your sites up and running or you have something for sale. No one cares about that. Some have gone to making a comment prior to the post like CROSS POST in the subject line, actually I like that.
But somethinghappened at one of my favorite forums that was very disturbing. A person posted small piece of interesting information. The following day in the user group email it was posted that there are two exactly same posts under different names wth different ISP address at different boards. It escalated to fingerpointing going back and forth over who was the originator. All you had to do was see the date of teh original post to know who was first. BuT it seems teh minute t was posted at one forum it was snagged and posted under another person at another forumwihtin seconds. What made teh situation worse was it was published at an online content place giving the hijacker the credit and eventual pay and the originator nothing but frustration.
Is this a new trend? is it something I should be concerned over?
