What has been your experience with a chat script on your forum? Mine has been that it does get some members to stay on the site chatting but they do not post as much. I think its better to have a shoutbox. This should keep the focus on posting in the forums.
I don't like them because they can cause your forum to load slow.

I like teh cahta bailities, But my chat server is a permanent Chatzy. So for me its a side bar link.
But I was reading about bandwith.. do forums really take up that much and can you set them to delete old posts?
